So I'm idly browsing through a few websites, reading the invaluable opinion of the www community, when my baguette falls from my mouth and a pencil quickly replaces it. Staring intently at the screen I notice a pattern emerge- excited I grab a scrap of paper and scribble down names dates and numbers... YES! Yes it is, a message! Hidden in everything I read.
It says something, something that I cant quite make out... I read on link after link. Soon I've reached the dark corners of the internet; reading blogs and reports from distant, pictureless websites... and then the message clears.
Calming I look down at my paper, double checking that what I've written matches what I've read... It reads "Everything wrong in the world is Gordon Browns fault"
Honestly cut him some slack. The man was responsible Britain's longest growth period in modern history! The occasional controversial descision aside he did a damn fine job and for a bleeding long time... we had a stable economy for 10 flat years with a fantastic rise in Land value which benefited the private home owners left over from Thatchers tyranny.
For some unknown reason those people who only a few years ago were rejoicing at their tripled house value are now cussing and burning effigy's of Brown because their tinned peas cost more than 37p.
He's approached the position of PM with years of experience and the right attitude- few people with as much influence as him have pushed harder than him for green power and recycling or removal of debt from third world countries [swears loudly at IMF].
His open dislike of Bush earns him extra Browny points- have all these people forgotten that we're part of the EU not America? Frankly the less we have to do with America vs. the Middle East the better and Browns reluctance to enter Iran under the banner of Bush is relieving =]
What I cant understand is why people instantly dislike him, he lacks charisma (no one denies this =] ) but we don't need a charismatic leader, the last one we had led us into the shitter... at least Gordon is Brown in name alone.
[quietly ignores the selling of most of our gold]
